Terms of Service
Updated 4 October 2026
What you agree to, and what we do not promise.
These are the terms you accept by using Masterball. Most of them come down to two things: every figure in this app is information rather than an appraisal, and every trade is between you and another member. Nothing here replaces the judgment you would use on any other market.
The agreement
These terms are a binding agreement between you and Masterball, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Masterball", "we" or "us"), covering this app, masterball.io, and everything in them.
By holding an account or using any part of the service you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use Masterball.
Masterball is an independent company. It is not affiliated with The Pokémon Company, Wizards of the Coast, or any trading card manufacturer, grader or marketplace named anywhere in the product.
Who can join
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
Masterball is by invitation. A person reviews every application and staff decide who joins. Submitting an application does not create an account and does not oblige us to open one.
We may decline an application without giving a reason, and we may close an account obtained by misrepresentation.
Standing and tiers
Tiers are granted by staff. No purchase grants one and nothing in the product sells one. Masterball Premium is a paid subscription and is a different thing: it is covered below.
What a tier opens is decided screen by screen and checked on our servers. Attempting to reach something your standing does not carry is a breach of these terms.
Staff grant standing and staff can withdraw it. We add, change and retire features over time and do not promise that any particular one stays available.
Your account
Give us accurate information and keep it current.
Your account is personal. Do not share your sign-in. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you should tell us at support@masterball.io straight away if you think it has been compromised.
You can delete your account yourself, from Delete account in your profile. It takes effect immediately and it cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not cancel a Premium subscription: only Apple can do that.
Prices, values and market data
Every price, index, population, chart, valuation, mover, comparison and portfolio figure in Masterball is information. None of it is an appraisal, a quote, an offer or a guarantee.
Prices are collected from third-party sources on a schedule. They can be stale by up to a day, they can be wrong at source, and a feed can stop without the number on screen saying so. Population counts come from graders and change as slabs are graded and cracked. Nothing here is priced live at the moment you read it.
Some figures are estimates rather than readings. Where we correct one source onto another's scale, or fill a gap in a grade ladder, what you see is our best model of a market rather than an observation of it.
Do not treat a figure in this app as the price you will get. If a value matters to a decision you are about to take, verify it against the market in front of you at that moment.
We do not warrant that any figure is accurate, current or complete, and we are not liable for a decision taken on one.
Not investment advice
Masterball is a tool and a network, not an adviser. Nothing in the app, the market screens, the reports, the streams or anything a member says in it is financial, investment, tax, legal or other professional advice, and no relationship formed here creates one.
Collectible cards are an unregulated market. They are illiquid, thinly traded, subject to grading risk, counterfeiting, manipulation and fashion, and they can lose value quickly and permanently. We make no promise about what anything is worth or will be worth.
Any decision you take is yours. Take advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances before acting.
The marketplace, offers and settlement
Where a listing is offered by another member, your contract for that trade is with that member, not with us. They are responsible for the card, for its description, for its condition and grade, and for delivering it.
Masterball does not hold your money. Payment for a member trade is settled between the two of you, and we are not a party to it, an escrow agent or a money transmitter.
An offer you place is an intention communicated to the other side. A commitment is a statement that you will settle. Do not place either unless you mean it: withdrawing from a commitment is recorded against your account, and repeated withdrawals will cost you standing.
We vet members and we can act against one who behaves badly, but we do not guarantee any trade, any authentication, any grade or any outcome. Disputes are between the parties in the first instance. Tell us and we will try to help.
Where Masterball itself is a party to a sale, that is stated on the listing.
Auctions and allocations
A bid is binding on you for as long as the lot is open. Winning a lot obliges you to settle it.
We may cancel a lot, void a bid or reopen a sale where there has been an error, a technical failure, or conduct intended to move a price. Bidding on your own lot, or arranging for someone else to, is prohibited.
Allocations decided by a draw are committed in advance and can be audited afterwards from Provably fair. That mechanism is what makes the draw checkable. It is not a promise of any particular result.
Card shops and Masterball Certified
Card shops can have a page on Masterball. A shop page is run by the people who own or work at that shop, and what they post there is their content, not ours. We do not sell cards on behalf of shops, and anything you buy from a shop is between you and that shop.
Masterball Certified means we checked that the shop is a registered business with a real location or return address and a named owner, that it has a written returns and authenticity policy, and that it agreed to our shop standards. Certified is free. A shop cannot pay for it. It is not a guarantee about any single card, sale or price, and it does not make us a party to any purchase.
A badge lasts 12 months. We can suspend or remove it at any time if a shop stops meeting the standards or if complaints about it are upheld, and we will tell the shop why.
Ratings and reviews of shops are public and appear under your name. Rate a shop only if you have dealt with it, describe your own experience honestly, and do not rate a shop you own, work at or compete with. New accounts must wait a few days before rating. We can hide a review that breaks these rules or the Conduct section, and a shop can reply to reviews publicly.
If you think a shop has sold a counterfeit card or acted dishonestly, report it from the shop page. Reports come to us, not to the shop.
Your content
What you post stays yours. You keep ownership of your listings, photographs, comments and messages.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting and display, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating and promoting Masterball. The license ends when you delete the content, except for copies already shared with other members, copies in backups until they age out, and where we must keep it by law.
You promise that you own or have the rights to what you post and that posting it breaks no law and no one else's rights.
We are not obliged to store your content. Keep your own copy of anything you care about, including photographs of cards you have sold.
Our content
The market data as assembled and presented here, the indices, the software, the artwork, the Masterball name and mark belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use them inside the app.
Masterball™ and the Masterball logo are trademarks of Masterball, LLC. Do not use them on or in connection with any product or service that is not ours, or in any way likely to cause confusion about who made it.
You may not, and may not help anyone else to: scrape, crawl, bulk-export or systematically copy the market data; republish or resell it; use it to build a competing product or to train a machine learning model; or reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app.
This is the term we enforce most readily. The catalogue and the price history took years to assemble.
Conduct
Masterball is a small network and it works because of who is in it. Do not:
- misrepresent a card, its condition, its grade or its provenance;
- list a card you do not hold, or one you have already sold;
- deal in counterfeit, altered, trimmed or undisclosed-repaired cards;
- bid to move a price rather than to buy;
- harass, threaten or abuse another member;
- take members off the platform to get around these terms;
- impersonate anyone, including staff;
- post another person's private information;
- share, sell or resell your account;
- attack the service or interfere with anyone else's use of it.
Report anything wrong to us. If you find a security vulnerability, report it to support@masterball.io instead of exploiting it.
Suspension and closure
We may remove content, restrict features, suspend an account or close a membership where these terms are broken, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect members or the service.
Some breaches mean immediate permanent closure without warning: misrepresenting a card, dealing in counterfeits, manipulating a sale, sharing an account, or bulk-copying the market data.
Where circumstances allow we will tell you what happened and give you a way to respond. Email us and a person will look at it.
Sections that by their nature should survive closure do survive it, including licenses already granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and dispute resolution.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that any price or figure in it is accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither we nor our officers, employees or suppliers are liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, business opportunity, data or goodwill, including any loss arising from a trade you made or did not make.
Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred US dollars.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full, and none of this affects statutory consumer rights you cannot waive.
You agree to indemnify Masterball and its officers, employees and agents against any claim, damage, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your content, your trades, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms or of the law.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support or handle any claim about it.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any US Government prohibited-party list.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Talk to us first. Before filing anything, email support@masterball.io with the problem and what you want. We will engage in good faith for at least 30 days.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, nothing here removes your right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, or to rely on the mandatory consumer protections of your local law.
Changes, and how to reach us
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading. For a material change we will give notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Masterball after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing something once does not waive it. You may not assign these terms; we may, in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
